A proud moment for the club last night was provided by our ladies' team. Having started the league campaign back in November, the Ladies were able to string together 9 wins in the group phase remaining unbeaten and placing them in a play-off for overall first place against Werneth.
Batting first we put a total of 305 on the board with contributions throughout. Helen Hankinson top scoring with 23.
The second innings saw Werneth’s strong batting line up hitting lots of boundaries much to the delight of their partisan crowd. However consistent wicket-taking managed to negate this (Stacey Hesford 2, Kaye Wallace 2) and saw Werneth restricted to 301, seeing our ladies crowned champions!
The whole club is immensely proud of what the section has managed to achieve in such a short space of time, since its inception. It is great to see all the hard work and commitment rewarded with this latest success. We are extremely positive and excited to see what the future holds. ???
